Took a foul ball to the mask this past weekend and the mask did its job. Great buy.

Chris B. Stafford, VA |
Mask is amazing. Lightweight, nice view area. Hardly notice anything is there. Recommended for any umpire.

Jacob L. Cross Roads, TX |
Best mask on the market, super lightweight and durable. Great in the heat as well.

Joe D. Billerica , MA |
I wasn't sure what to expect with this mask, but it is everything that was advertised and more! It feels like the lightest face mask I've worn. The fit is super comfortable and the protection is superior, and the matte black finish looks sharp, giving me everything I want in a mask. I'm extremely happy I made the change to All-Star. Thanks Ump-Attire!

Lightweight yet sturdy, good field of vision. Definitely worth it!

Eric O. Yukon, OK |
My biggest worry with this purchase was if it could take a direct hit and the paint could hold up. It works! I have taken 3-4 shots directly to the face and the paint hasn’t so much as blemished! It’s sturdy, lightweight, and has great overall protection! It worth the money!

I just received mine in the mail today, and I am very impressed. The mask I previously used was the Diamond IX3 with Team Wendy Pads paired with a skull cap. The All-Star is even lighter than my previous set up! The All-Star came with a nice carry bag, and a 6” throat guard that I actually really like (it doesn’t move around when putting on and taking off mask)! I did notice the quality of the top pad was similar to the stock pads that came on my IX3, so I went ahead and swapped it out with my Team Wendy and it fits just fine! I’m super excited to use this mask this coming year in my first year working at the college level.

Paired this mask with the Umplife harness and I couldn’t be anymore happier! Very light weight, the pads are awesome and fit my face perfectly.

Goated facemask.

Robert B. Calif City, CA |
Great mask. 1st game out took one straight on. Didn't even feel it. Very comfortable and field of vision.
|
Luca Z. London, England |
Mask is pretty good but the harness is quite a bit ridiculous for the price of the mask.
|
Mark S. Springfield, VA |
Extremely lightweight and very comfortable. Took a direct hit two nights ago and it deflected off. I barely noticed it.

Eric W. Johns Island, SC |
Best mask I’ve used. Lightweight and comfortable. Great view of the action.

Jeff H. Pflugerville, TX |
This mask is well worth the money. It's very comfortable, lightweight, and does a great job deflecting baseballs. No regrets.

Lightweight and very comfortable.

I can't believe I waited this long to get this mask. It is so light and looks great. The padding does not muffle your voice during the game like some have said it would. The mask functions great and is worn by many MLB umpires.

Anthony T. Albany, NY |
The mask is incredibly light, great vision and the extended padding provides greater coverage. The padding gives upon impact which helps to absorb the hit. The shape of the mask minimizes impact. Lastly, I purchased the silver which was defective (tarnished and coating chipped) Ump Attire was great in providing a replacement during the season. Best mask on the market.

Douglas M. Neenah, WI |
This umpire mask is by far better than the cheaper ones. The hard foul tips are absorbed much better with this umpire mask.

Michael H. Lake Elsinore, CA |
This mask is outstanding. I own 11 different traditional masks and 2 hockey style masks. I can honestly say that out of all them, this by far is my favorite. The sight lines allow me a clear view of the field and I can wear this all day and not feel tired after doing 3 plus plates in a row. Pads have the layer of plastic plate protection on the bottom pad, and since it extends past the bottom of the frame, I am not worried about a really hard shot directly to the mask. I also purchased the Cobalt Umpire helmet just for this mask and I can honestly say this is the perfect set up. The mask comes off smoothly and it stays in place every time I put it on. No matter what level of baseball you do, this All-Star can handle the job. I recently saw a spring training game in Arizona when Boston was playing and the plate umpire took a direct foul ball to this exact mask. It didn't even faze him and he went right back to work. A must have for a dedicated umpire.

I purchased the All-Star Magnesium mask after using a less costly mask during our preseason district tournament. After receiving the Magnesium mask, I was frankly astonished at the difference in weight. The shape of the metal structure is aesthetically pleasing and allows me great visibility in all directions. The week after I received it, I took a direct shot to the mask. I did not feel the hit (there was sound but no feeling). The mask performed perfectly. When I show off this mask to people, I pitch it to them. They brace to catch some heavy metal object and are amazed at how lightweight it is when they catch it. The welds are perfect. The finish appears to be a powder coat of some type, but I have yet to put a scratch on mine. This All-Star Magnesium mask is worth the money in comfort, protection and durability. This is the one piece of equipment that you do not skimp on and this is the best umpire mask on the market today.

So far, I like the light weight. I use the All-Star Cobalt Umpire Skull Cap in conjunction with the mask and they work well together.
|
Bryce W. Nacogdoches, TX |
Much more light weight than the original Diamond mask. Makes this mask seem like a feather after using the old Diamond mask. Very durable and when hit in the mask it’ll bounce off thanks to the curvature of the mask.
|
Gary W. Puyallup, WA |
Amazingly light!! I use the All-Star Cobalt Umpire Skull Cap in conjunction with the mask and they marry well together. I did upgrade my harness for another high-end brand. I do High School, NCAA, and Men's Semi-Pro ball and have taken balls in excess of 90+ with NO PROBLEMS. Keep the mask tight and have confidence in this investment! The price point is well worth it! WAY TO GO UMP ATTIRE!!!

Alan M. Archbold, OH |
Pleasantly surprised. My last mask was heavy and I'd lose the ball due to the bottom bar. I went to the hockey mask because the line of sight is unobstructed. I decided to try the regular mask for summer ball. This mask is light, well cushioned, and the flat bars enable me to see the entirety of the pitch. In my opinion, it is worth the investment.

I have now had my All-Star Mask for a few weeks and love it. I have taken 3 shots off of it and never felt a thing. With my old mask I took some shots and thought about giving the sport up. After getting this mask, I feel so much safer and I feel like I see the ball better. If anyone is on the fence, GET IT!! You will not regret it.

A well-made mask that I wish I bought long ago. It was expensive but worth it! EXTREMELY LIGHT, COMFORTABLE with good visibility. Matched with the Skull cap and Visor it's a perfect setup. The Visor keeps out glare from lights and sun. The Skull cap secured the mask harness very well. The mask comes off easily and also secures into position quickly. If you have neck issues like I do this mask will help you stay on the field.

This umpire mask is effervescent. Absolutely light as a feather, beautifully made, and a joy to use. The craftsmanship is sublime and well worth the money. I've seen several MLB umpires with this mask, and I can see why. The mask works well with a four-seam cap. This is a six-star review, so if you can save up some lunch money, this is worth the price tag. Play ball!

Seth M. Princeton, WV |
Have this mask along with the sun visor for it and the All-Star skull cap. It fits great and looks even better. Took 2 pitches off the mask the other night and didn’t feel anything. The quality of all 3 of them seems well and I believe they will last for awhile. Very happy with the purchases.

Robert K. Rehoboth Beach, DE |
This is by far the best umpire mask I've ever used. Light and very comfortable without sacrificing safety. I've taken a few face shots to the mask and it held up well. One of the more pricey masks but well worth the money if you do a lot of games. Nothing takes the place of quality in a mask.

I have 3 games with the new All-Star MAG. It is very light looks great and my vision is better than my previous mask. Previous mask is the Diamond ix3 with Team Wendy pads. The All-Sar is lighter and offers more protection. I went with the all black as was my previous. My only complaint is the mask harness on the All-Star does not have enough adjustment and at $225 I should not have to pay for a replacement.

Went with this umpire mask just by happenstance. Best choice. Insanely light. I took a foul shot directly in the face and felt nothing. This mask is well worth the money.

Mark S. Texas |
Great product. Solid umpire mask, with great protection. Previously used the Wilson Dyna-Lite, and this mask takes the impact of baseballs MUCH better. What would have caused a headache with the old mask doesn't have the same issue with the All-Star Magnesium.

I just recently made the investment in this umpire mask - Black on Black. Granted it is not a cheap mask, but after watching the webcast that Ump-Attire.com did with All-Star and the R&D with attention to detail, I had to have one. Unbelievably light and I know my head will be well protected. I see more and more MLB guys wearing this mask, and if more and more are switching to this it has to be good. The only challenge I had was a throat guard. The current extended piece did not allow for much to be attached “behind” it...but I was able to modify an All-Star Mag Throat guard I had, and the setup now is great. Can’t wait to try it.

By far my favorite umpire mask. I have purchased 4 other masks, but the design, weight, and quality of this mask are like no other. You will not be disappointed.
|
Zachary U. Las Vegas, NV |
This umpire mask is incredibly light and feels great in your hand! The stock pads seem to be very protective. The bars are more horizontal than on other masks, but I believe it gives you a great view! I'd rather use this mask than any other!
|
Michael R. Rogers, AR |
Super light and well padded similar to the All-Star 4000 helmet I wear on most occasions. Unfortunately I found that the design of the pads specifically the thickness and distance it creates between the pads and the outside of the mask is significantly different from a traditional mask or helmet. I found it visually confining almost tunnel vision like. I bet if I gave it a chance during a game I could have gotten use to it but there are too many other great options for the price to go with so I returned it for the Wilson Titanium for the hot days and my All-Star 4000 helmet when bats are really flying.

Bought the black on black to replace the silver on black(silver finish faded). This is the only umpire mask for me and I recommend it to everyone. I also get a lot of questions about it.

Tony C. Richmond, KY |
Love the mask! So light and comfortable. Highly recommend.

John S. Owosso, MI |
Absolutely love this umpire mask! I have already taken a shot off of it and did not feel it! I high recommend this mask!

David V. Fairfield, Maine |
This is one of the most amazing umpire mask that I have ever owned. It's light weight and fits like a glove.
|
Terry M. St. Joseph, MI |
Super lightweight and provides a great field of view. Can easily be worn with an 8 stitch cap. Took two college foul balls straight back with little notice.
|
Tony N Ponte Vedra , FL |
This umpire mask is very light and easy to work with. It gives you a good view of the ball-field. Took a hit off the bat on a foul ball 14u game and off a hit batter in a 17u game, so far without issue. Mask did its job.

| A: | These Light Ultra Cool (LUC) pads will remain the same consistency throughout various temperatures. – Brandon LawsonSupport Specialist, Pro Umpire School Graduate and Umpire, Football Official & Basketball Referee |
| Q: | Has there been any testing that compares the All-Star to the Force3 as far as protection? – Tom Harmsen |
| A: | I don't have any testing results to share but can expand on the protection of the two masks. All-Star trusts in a light-weight frame from injected molded magnesium creating a mask with no welds. The multi-angular frame works to deflect force away from the center. The ABS plastic plate in the bottom chin pad disperses force evenly. Force3 trusts the S3 suspension system. Much like a car's suspension, the F3 Defender will absorb an impact on the outer frame, keeping the majority of the force from the frame against your face. The pads of the Force3 Defender also have a reinforced Kevlar lining to deperse force. – Ty UnthankMarketing Specialist, HS & College Umpire |
| Q: | Will this mask accept Team Wendy pads? How do the pads this comes with compare to Team Wendy? – Mark Smith |
| A: | The center I-Bar prevents the Team Wendy pads from attaching to this mask. You will need to cut the center Velcro straps of the bottom Team Wendy pad to wrap around the center I-Bar. You can see on the All-Star LUC padding, the center Velcro strap of the lower pad is split down the middle. In comparison, the Team Wendy is a memory foam padding made up of military-grade Zorbium foam. The All-Star LUC padding is oversized foam padding with an ABS plastic plate running the distance of the lower pad to help disperse force evenly across the frame/padding. Both will be very protective, but the LUC padding is better fitted for this mask. – Ty UnthankMarketing Specialist, HS & College Umpire |
| Q: | Love the new design! How close will a traditional 6-stitch Richardson cap fit inside before touching the top bars? – Kevin Farr |
| A: | Due to the angled frame of this mask, a 6-stitch umpire cap will touch the top bars. We would highly recommend using a 4-stitch cap or the All-Star Cobalt Umpire Skull Cap. – Brandon LawsonSupport Specialist, Pro Umpire School Graduate and Umpire, Football Official & Basketball Referee |
| Q: | Are you able to put a sun visor on this mask? – Anthony Hauk |
| A: | Yes! All-Star has developed the FM4K Sun Visor specifically for these Magnesium masks and System7 masks. – Ty UnthankMarketing Specialist, HS & College Umpire |
