All-Star Cobalt 6" Umpire Throat Guard

This throat guard is a beast! I took a foul ball and you can see the lace marks where the guard took the brunt of the impact.

The throat guard was free with the mask I purchased, but I would have gladly paid for it. No regrets on this item and would recommend.

A bit of a pain to put in but once it’s on it will do its job. I hope I don’t need it.

I really like this throat guard, its material is very solid. I like it because its straps are resistant and keeps the protector in place without it moving or coming out of place, which gives you more confidence when being behind the plate.

This umpire throat protector is a bargain at this price. I only wear a 6 inch with my traditional masks and this one looks clean; plus it provides the perfect protection for umpires who realize that a ball will make its way to the throat without it. The attachment is easy and stays on during the game. A must have, and I speak from 20 years of umpiring experience. Thanks again All-Star for another quality piece of equipment.

Suitable for the All-Star FM4000k mag mask and protects well.

I've been wearing this 6" All-Star throat protector since September 2022. I was concerned it would feel cheap at the $9.99 price point, but the reviews were solid and I've always heard great things about their catcher's gear. This product has a high-quality feel to it, the snaps are sturdy, and it fits great with my Diamond umpire face mask. The Cobalt logo looks pretty cool too. I would absolutely buy it again.

I was in search of a longer throat protector and found this one. It’s very easy to attach to one’s mask, and I’m confident it will give me the extra protection I need as a plate umpire.

Nice throat guard. Mated up with the All-Star FM4KMAG that I have very nicely. It has saved me once already since install. Took a inside pitch fouled off the handle right directly to it at a good clip. I barely felt anything between the mask and the chest protector that it got deflected to. It deflected it very well. My only reason not giving it a 5 star is the clasps. I wish they were snaps, not the buttons.

Well made. A little longer than I like and a little narrower than I would prefer.

Great addition to the All-Star line. now my All-Star Mag mask can have a throat guard to match (instead of another brand).
